Choosing the right emulsion for a particular job is important for the final print quality of your products. Exposure speed, image resolution, durability on press and ease of reclaim are all properties that need to be considered to some degree.

DIAZO EMULSION

Diazo emulsions have been used for many decades and are still preferred when low production cost is a major consideration. Diazo emulsions are either water resistant or resistant to UV and solvent-based inks. Plastisol inks may be used with either one of the listed emulsions.

Water Resistant

KIWOCOL 225 WR / WR Undyed
225 WR is an emulsion formulated specifically for use with water-based and plastisol inks. It provides very good resolution and excellent resistance in long run applications for textile printers who use these ink systems. Other features include good exposure latitude and relatively easy reclaiming considering its water resistance.

Solvent/UV Resistant

KIWOCOL 16 Rapid
16 Rapid is a durable, solvent resistant emulsion system made for general graphics and textile printing. Its balanced viscosity and solids content make it easy to achieve a good emulsion build-up on all mesh counts using a variety of coating techniques. High solvent resistance makes it a good choice when using most graphic and plastisol ink systems. It also offers fast exposure within the range of Diazo emulsions.

DIAZO - PHOTOPOLYMER EMULSIONS

KIWOCOL Poly-Plus Series

Diazo-Photopolymer emulsions, also known as dual-cure emulsions are based on newer technology and offer the largest variety in features and applications. They typically offer high resolution and the widest exposure latitude of the three emulsion systems.

Poly-Plus S
PolyPlus S undyed
Our most popular product with screen printers year after year, POLY-PLUS S offers outstanding copying properties. It is highly suitable for halftone reproduction or other fine detail work.
Its solvent resistance gives it superior strength against most solvents and ink washes, while remaining durable in humid environments. Having even higher solvent resistance than SWR,
it is better suited for longer runs on a wide variety of substrates.

Poly-Plus SWR
Poly-Plus SWR - Red
POLY-PLUS SWR enables you to reproduce quality printed images with the most popular ink systems available today - an excellent choice for close tolerance printing. High resistance to solvents and moisture make a very durable stencil.

Poly-Plus Z
KIWOCOL Poly-Plus Z is our newest diazo-photopolymer emulsion. This 40% solids content emulsion utilizes the latest in raw material technology to blend superb resolution with economy. Poly-Plus Z is UV, solvent and plastisol resistant and is formulated for smooth easy coating. Its low tack surface provides less squeegee drag as well as improved ink release and screen peel characteristics.

Water / Solvent Resistant:

Poly-Plus SRX
As the industry's benchmark for top quality, the optimized formula of POLY-PLUS SRX offers unsurpassed excellence in resolution for close tolerance work such as halftone and finest detail reproduction. Similar to Poly-Plus S it has outstanding mechanical and solvent resistance but offers the added benefit of excellent water resistance.

Poly-Plus HWR
POLY-PLUS HWR produces a highly water resistant stencil designed for use with water based inks in long run applications. Due to its high mechanical and abrasion resistance, HWR is also ideal for ceramic inks as well as roll to roll printing of wallpaper, rugs, glass and other abrasive substrates.

KIWO POLYCOL SBQ EMULSIONS

SBQ emulsions are one-component emulsion systems that are pre-sensitized and ready for use. They usually offer very fast exposure speed and can be used universally, but often are developed for specific applications and exposure equipment such as direct projection, high emulsion over mesh ratio or for coarse mesh counts. SBQ emulsions are typically resistant to UV, solvent-based and Plastisol inks.

Universal applications:

Polycol NeXT SX7
Specifically formulated for the garment printer and for general applications. NeXT TX5 features ultra-fast exposure, outstanding coating properties and good resistance for long print runs with plastisol inks. It offers good performance with weak light sources while the low viscosity allows quick emulsion buildup on all mesh counts.

Textile Applications:

Polycol Aqua
Polycol Aqua Red
AQUA offers very good resistance to plastisol inks in long print run applications. Its viscosity/solids content balance enables fast emulsion build up in the coating process, with fast exposure. This emulsion can also be made permanent with HARDNER AWR for printing long runs with water-based ink systems.

Polycol Solo
This emulsion appeals to many garment printers because of its very smooth coating properties.
It features very high solids, fast drying times, fast exposure and easy reclaimablity. It is also compatible with liquid ink-jet computer-to-screen imaging systems such as
the Gerber Screen Jet©.
Viscosity: 12,500 mPas
Solids content: 40%

Polycol One-Coat
Polycol One-Coat is a high solid, fast exposing pre-sensitized SQB emulsion for printing garments with Plasisol, water-based and discharge inks. This emulsion was specifically developed for screen room efficiency and processing speed. Coating, drying and exposing times are significantly reduced to maximize screen throughput. Optimal stencil thicknesses achieved by applying one coat of emulsion on each side of the screen.

For maximum durability with discharge and water-based inks Polycol One-Coat should be mixed with Diazo D (supplied at no charge).

For digital direct exposure systems (CTS) and projection cameras:

Polycol Project SW8/1
POLYCOL PROJECT SW 8/1 is used for the production of high-quality, solvent and water resistant stencils made by the direct projection system. Good resolution and excellent mesh bridging make it suitable for printing large half-tone posters. POLYCOL PROJECT SW 8/1 is water and solvent resistant and therefore highly suitable for textile printing as well as graphic screen printing.

Polycol 150
Polycol 150 is specifically formulated to work with digital direct exposure CTS systems that have a weak light source. It offers exceptional exposure speed, very good wet resistance to allow automated development of the stencil and high resolution. It has good resistance to UV and solvent-based inks and is easily reclaimable.

Solids content: 25%

Polycol XXL
Polycol XXL is a very high viscosity, high solids, one-component emulsion specifically formulated for screen printing applications requiring a thick stencil build-up. Primary application is special effects garment printing such as: high density plastisol, 3-D, puff, glitter, crystalina, caviar beads and flocking. Polycol XXL is a low cost alternative to thick capillary film stencil systems.

KIWO STENCIL HARDENERS

Stencil hardeners are chemical hardeners that increase the water resistance of most KIWO emulsions. Depending on the type of hardener and the emulsion a permanent water proof stencil can be achieved that is no longer reclaimable

Hardener HP
Hardener HP is a chemical hardener that increases the water resistance of most KIWO emulsions, while allowing the screen to remain reclaimable with the use of stencil remover and high water pressure

Water proof / permanent stencil:

Hardener K
HARDENER K is a chemical hardener that increases the water-resistance of most KIWO emulsions. It is especially effective with KIWOCOL POLY-PLUS HWR. HARDENER K does not require heat-setting.

Depending on the chemical structure of the emulsion, an absolute water proof stencil may be achieved that is no longer reclaimable.

Hardener AWR
HARDENERAWR is a chemical hardener that increases the water-resistance of most KIWO emulsions. Best results are achieved when the stencil can be heat-set after applying AWR.

Depending on the chemical structure of the emulsion, an absolute water proof stencil may be achieved that is no longer reclaimable.

KIWOSET C
KIWOSET C is a chemical hardener to increase the water-resistance of Ceracop 2300 and other photo emulsions.

Depending on the chemical structure of the emulsion, an absolute water proof stencil may be achieved that is no longer reclaimable.
